Changes to movie poster

This is my first version of my film poster, to gain feedback for it I used the 'padlet' website where i can post this for free and recieve comments on it. I recieved all positive comments and felt that i did not need much of a change to my poster. I changed the 'home sweet home' tagline to make it slightly bolder to catch the viewers eye more as i feel this is really affective. I have also created my own billing block, as you can see when looking closely this is not a billing block for my film so i have created my own and put it on my poster, all using photoshop. Also on the original billing block i put 'coming soon' in it and I have changed that and I have used a typical convention of a film poster by putting the realse date underneath the tagline. I have also added 'inspired by true events' so when people see my poster which they dont have a clue about, when they see that they will become much more interested as they already know its a horror film, it might scare them and make them want to watch the film to find out what it has been inspired by.
As shown below is my final poster.

Changes to magazine

Just like on my film poster, I used the website padlet and uploaded my film magazine to a wallwisher were people are able to post comments around my magazine cover on what they think of it, giving it any positive comments but also comments for improvements. When looking over my magazine thoroughly I decided that I needed to make changes to the following things:
Magazine name- make it stand out more
Change the films cuts or move them somewhere else on the page
Too many different colours or red, need to stick to one colour
'the intruder' text is the same on my poster- need to make it different
Issue number & price etc. are not bold enough to see.

In order to make these changes correctly, I found some 'scream' magazine covers and looked at them to see what I could use from them to put on my magazine to make it more realsitic.

I first of all used this Scream magazine issue. I first noticed how bold the magazine title was so I then did this to my magazine cover. I gave the text a white glow to it stood out even more and made it looks much better. I have also tried to set it out similar to this magazine. I have put my image underneath the mast head and slightly to the right of the page.

I then looked at these 3 Scream magazine covers, I picked these 3 to look at because they used the movie cuts along the left hand side of the magazine, this was good news for me because i knew i could still use the films cuts on my magazine but would have to move them. When I moved the film cuts it did not look very good so I decided to re-make them completely and make them very similar to the cuts on these 3 magazines. I have also changed the 'intruder' text on my magazine to make that stand out more also, i feel as though this has worked very well.

I also liked the idea of having a 'PLUS!' part at the bottom of my magazine as I have noticed most magazines have these as they inform the buyer what is going to be inside the magazine. I have looked at the following magazines in this post to help me to decide what to write so that it looks more realistic.

After making all of the changes to my magazine shown below is my final product.

Billing Block

At first I did not use my own billingblock as I was usure how to create a professional one, due to this I find one online and used that. After doing research I have discovered how to create my very own billing block and make it look extremely professional. This is my billing block for my my magazine cover which I created using the photoshop software (shown above). I had to download the correct text for this process, so i had to first of all search online via google search engine to find the correct text then find a website where i was legally able to download this font. The website I used was http://billing-block.com/ which was a simple and easy process, it let me download the text for free and let me create my own personal billing block.

The reason I wanted to use a billingblock for my poster is because it make it look much more professional, for example, like in the strangers poster shown below. It follows the codes and conventions of a film poster.
